She is Back in Cape Town

アーティスト Hitoko Urago さんが、エキシビションのためにケープタウンに戻ってきました。

彼女は、20代前半にロンドンに渡り、アートの活動をしながら、17年間の月日をロンドンで過ごした芸術作家さんで、現在、ロンドン、大阪、そしてケープタウンを飛び回り、活動中です。

ケープタウンに来ていた彼女は、ロンドン生活や日本とは違う、ケープタウンならではの大自然や、入り混じった国籍と階級社会にインスピレーションを受けながら活動を広げ、ケープタウンで初のエキシビションが行われることになりました。

今回のエキシビションは、今までのスタイルやセッティングとは大きく異なり、ギャラリーではなく、彼女のワークスペースで展示を行います。
そのため、企画、経費調整、広告、アレンジなど、彼女は全てに携わることになり、これは、アーティストが自らプロデュース作業を行うとても稀なスタイルであり、彼女にとって大きな挑戦でもあります。
現在、仁子さんは、ワークスペースのスタッフとの打ち合わせ重ねながら、新しい作品のペインティング作業を行っています。

Japanese artist Hitoko Urago came back in Cape Town.

She traveled to London when she was early 20's and has lived in London for 17 years.
She came to Cape Town for staying in 2009. She was inspired by beautiful nature around Cape Town and also came across defferent nationalities and systems which she hadn't experienced in London or Japan.

Now, she is facing very unique style of exhibition.
This exhibition is very interesting style and completely different setting from exhibitions she had in London.
Because she is using her workspace as her exhibition space this time.
It means, she has to be involved the planning, accounting, advertising and arranging all sort of producing and direction work
which is unusual for artists. She is increasing her learning experience.

These days, she is having to meet and work with creative directors of art space, while also working on her latest paintings.
Anybody come to this unique exhbition, they can feel her beautiful art works.
